The Nechako Kitamaat Development Fund Society came to our aid and assisted us with the cost of installing a fire suppression sprinkler system in one of our seniors’ housing complexes in Burns Lake.
The funds received from NKDF were crucial to our ability to complete this costly and worthwhile project.
The Lakes District Senior Citizen Housing Association now has a fire suppression sprinkler system for Carroll Cottage. Carroll Cottage is a 14 unit apartment complex specifically for senior citizens. Research shows that the benefits of a fire suppression sprinkler system are the reduction in fatalities and injuries, reduction in property losses and the reduction in cost of fire services. This is especially relevant for this aged building housing senior citizens, some of whom have mobility issues.
The Lakes District Senior Citizen Housing Association is so grateful for the assistance. The staff of NKDF supported and guided us throughout the complete process from the initial application to the final reports and payment. It was a pleasurable experience!
